BLOG: Sorry it's late, I was playing golf!

My usual readership will note that this blog is slightly later than usual. Whilst I'm usually a stickler for deadlines, I have a perfectly reasonable excuse – I was playing golf.
Yesterday after work, the team BEDS&LUTON crew made the short trip to Tea Green for a quick 9 holes on the par 3 after work, and I'm pleased to say I didn't embarrass myself. In fact Tom, my golfing partner and I won overall, a small victory, but a victory none the less.
The round was a bit of a mixed bag; I had good holes and bad holes. My first tee shot went flying to the right marginally missing my poor colleagues playing the next hole but by the time I got to hole 7 I gave my bank balance a fright when my shot went sailing onto the green missing the hole by inches. There were no drinks all round in the clubhouse and I was disappointed to not even make par. This highlighted the need for me to pay further attention to my short game and with only a week remaining I'm running out of time to get myself in the best possible shape for #TeamColmworth.
The race to the trophy is on and with the competition on home turf, this only adds to the pressure. No one wants to get beaten on their home turf and quite frankly that trophy would look lovely nestled in the shelves of Colmworth Golf Club's club house. If skill doesn't win it for us we have gone for the classic fall back of looking the part. We've just ordered some rather snazzy looking polo shirts in a lovely shade of fuchsia, complete with club badge.
Not wanting to take any chances, even with the golfing kit, I've penned, not pencilled, in plenty of sessions over the coming week. Hopefully I can use my time out on the course to get some decent action shots to use in my next blog.
Until next week
