PE and School Sport Conference

This hugely successful and inspirational Bedfordshire PE and School Sport Conference took place on Wednesday 15th March at Centre Parcs, Woburn Forest. 175 people came together for the day (delegates and marketplace) to be inspired and motivated to take back to school lots of ideas to engage their pupils in physical activity and school sport. The focus of the conference this year was "Promoting healthy active lifestyles through high quality inclusive Physical Education and School Sport."

Delegates from schools across Bedfordshire attended 5 workshop throughout the day including The Power of Active Schools, Behaviour Change, Case studies, Fitter Future, Boxercise, Skip2Bfit, Tai Chi and Yoga to name a few. At the end of the day delegates completed a pledge card of 3 things they will be do following the conference. These pledge cards will be sent out to delegates in May to remind them as to what they have said they are going to do. We will also be using some of these pledges next year to form case studies and share good practice across the county.

Some of the comments from delegates were:

"Great to meet and network with colleagues – some interesting and thought provoking ideas"

"Brilliant day – will go back and share lots of ideas"

"very good day with good quality deliverers. Many thanks"

" A fantastic day that has equipped me with lots of new and fresh ideas to use back in school"

" Super day to motivate and inspire"

"please do again next year!"

" a really worthwhile day – excellent workshops taking back great ideas to school that I can hopefully implement"
